KEY STRENGTHS I am seeking a project manager position in your firm. I have had 35 years experience in planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of multi-discipline sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity. I exhibit excellent client relation values and have been involved with marketing, contract development, design and production. I can coordinate the workload for the Project Team through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule and within the client's and the company's budgets. I have supervised project staffs and performing in a role functioning as a mentor for less experienced Project Managers and developing Project Architects.
I was the Vice President of T.W. Layman Associates. I had been with the firm for the past twenty five years. I was involvement with the production and coordination of projects. I have excellent client relation skills and I am involved with marketing, contract development, design and production. The firms projects were commercial and residential. My work involved business development, managing contracts, client coordination, team project management, planning, scheduling, budgeting skills, office management, preliminary studies, permit processing and construction administration. I have extensive construction supervision knowledge and have supervised construction of many projects. I negotiated and approved contracts, provided scheduling and cost budgeting of projects. My projects were at or under budget. I have strong leadership qualities and computer skills. I have a distinct record of professional achievement and brought a broad range of skills to the firm.
I decided in the third grade to become an architect. I am an alumnus of California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo where I graduated with honors in 1974 with a five year BA degree. I joined the Peace Corps following graduation. I lived in Fez, Morocco for two years providing housing for thousands of government employees. I developed the Fez city municipal building, city parks and did regional planning design for a new city in the suburbs of Fez. After completing my Peace Corps service in Fez I worked for a private Moroccan Architect in Tangiers. I left Morocco after three years return to the United States and worked on apartments, tract and custom & residential projects.
The past 30 years I have been practicing architecture in the United States. I have been a member of the AIA for the past 25 years and past Board of Director for the San Fernando Valley Chapter. I have worked with several San Fernando Valley AIA member architects doing custom residences. I also had a practice of my own doing residential & health care projects before joining T.W. Layman Associates. I have been active within my community of Moorpark and have been on several committees. Chairperson for Campus Hills Design Review Board. I am a volunteer for the Governors Office of Emergency Services and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.
