Construction Executive Online will check three work or professional construction references covering the past five to seven years of a construction executives work history. Construction Executives are told that construction reference checking will be conducted and that they are responsible for providing a list of valid and appropriate construction references that are familiar with their abilities and past job performance. Candidates will also be required to sign a waiver giving the construction employer and Construction Executive Online express permission to do the construction background check.

Well-trained, professional, and experienced construction interviewers conduct extensive telephone interviews with the identified construction references. All federal and state laws and standard personnel practices and guidelines are strictly followed in this process. Construction Executive Online staff is aware of protected categories of the Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act issues, Equal Employment Opportunity practices, and requirements of the Federal Credit Reporting Act.
Construction Interviews do not follow a checklist format, but an open-ended question and conversational approach. This encourages construction references to provide more detail and to explain ratings, behaviors, and situations. Any special concerns or requirements that need to be covered in these interviews can be added at no additional cost.
