1/15 – 3/15            San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station

Primary technical interface with SCE on the defueling of SONGS.

Responsible for establishing the Holtec site engineering, design and all fieldwork for the switch over to the Holtec System.

Responsible to oversee engineering resources in the creation of the design change packages. Responsible for taking ownership of the physical resources and programs needed to support the site activities.

Responsible for planning, scheduling and management of site resources through construction and loading.

7/12- 1/15              Director

Primary representative for Holtec International in the United Kingdom.  Responsible for contracts in excess of $100M in the short term with lifetime contracts in excess of $250M.  This includes directing the full licensing, design and fabrication effort for the Holtec equipment for UK clients.  Responsible for all the technical, financial and planning work to support the projects.  Overseeing the preparation of over 200 documents supporting licensing and the project including:

  • Project Control Documents encompassing Project Plans, Quality Plans, CDM Reports, CE Marking and Project/Process Flow Diagrams

  • Technical Reports in the areas of structural, thermal, criticality, shield and design substantiation.

  • Detailed design and fabrication drawings for the more than 60 separate pieces of equipment.


2/10 – 6/12            Project Manager

Responsible for establishing and directing the Holtec International Project Office in the United Kingdom. Directing work on projects for UK Clients. Responsible for pursuing work for the use of the Holtec International products in the UK.

Project Manager for multi-million dollar environmental, waste management, and plant improvement projects.  Project Manager for the Dry Cask Storage Project, Security Computer Replacement and Hot Machine Shop upgrade at Cook Plant.  Dry Cask Storage is a $50 million project for the storage of spent nuclear fuel.  Responsible for the overall engineering, public communications, budget and licensing for the projects.  In 1999 & 2004, successfully completed $8.5 million project to prepare and transport old steam generators as radioactive waste to Utah for burial.  From 2001 – 2005, responsible for purchase of uranium, enrichment and fabrication of nuclear fuel.  Ongoing duties with responsibility for decommissioning cost estimating and regulatory reporting.  Completed a rotational position in the Performance Assurance Department (QA), responsible for the oversight and auditing of all the engineering functions at the Cook Nuclear Plant.

In 2007, completed the Management Certification for Nuclear Power Plant Operations

8/98-12/00         Manager, Regulatory Licensing

The position was to manage a large technical staff to coordinate communications with federal and local regulatory agencies for entire business unit.  Coordinate with all plant organizations to determine technical and regulatory solutions.  Ensure compliance with regulations and plant specific technical specifications.  Responsible for staffing, budgeting and development of business plans. 

4/82 – 7/98        Started as an Associate Engineer and worked to be a Senior Engineer

Responsible for the oversight of nuclear and environmental programs.  Responsibilities include radioactive and hazardous waste management. Project manager and project engineer for the siting, design and construction of a $9 million waste storage building, radiation monitoring system and meteorological system.
