Location: Verona, WI

Job Description:
- Accountable for site civil requirements, such as site plans, grading plans, storm water analysis and design, utility plans, and cut and fill analysis Coordinate technical and feasibility studies and site investigations
- Will develop detailed designs
- Accountable for assessing the potential risks of specific projects, as well as undertaking risk management in specialist roles
- Will supervise tendering procedures and put together proposals
- Manage, supervise and visit contractors on site and advising on civil engineering issues
- Liaison with architects, subcontractors, contracting civil engineers, consultants, co-workers and clients
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, other departments and staff from other companies;
- Accountable to work within the budgets and other project resources
- Compile, check and approve reports
- Review and approve project drawings
- Attend public meetings and displays to discuss projects, especially in a senior role
- Adopt all relevant requirements around issues such as building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices and safety on all work assignments;
- Prepare and review engineering plans and specifications
- Negotiate project approval by City, County, State, and other agencies
- Prepare design and construction project bid proposals
- Elicit bids for consulting services as required
- Review and oversee projects through final acceptance by agency
- Confer with and advise on problems related to the design and construction of projects, the interpretation and enforcement of construction specifications, and the design and operations of City's infrastructure systems
- Develop comprehensive recommendations for management use
- Research files, publications, and sources both inside and outside the department as necessary
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
- Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to determine design specifications.
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards
- Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
- Prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact statements, and property and right-of-way descriptions.
- Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to industrial and managerial personnel.
- Work with Manager, Development Manager and Project Manager in developing project budgets
- Review and refine scope of work as required by project jurisdictional body
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of the team
- Determine applicable codes, regulations and requirements for assigned projects
- Coordinate the preparation of or develops engineering plans and specifications, coordinates required advertising for bids, reviews construction bids and makes necessary recommendations based on lowest and best bids, competency of vendors and consultants and the selection criteria
- Provide project management for the construction of the structural engineering projects.
- Oversee assigned projects to ensure contractor compliance with time and budget parameters for the project
- Assist in the evaluation development proposals, permits, rezones, plats, etc. Prepares feasibility, drainage, wastewater, utility and other studies and reports.
- Perform related duties or responsibilities, as assigned or requested.

Necessary education and/or work experience:
- Bachelor�s degree in civil or structural engineering
- 3 years experience in civil and structural engineering

Required knowledge and skills:
- ADA requirements
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.
- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
