Job Description:
Sandvik Mining and Construction, the world�s leading supplier of drilling and excavation machinery, equipment and tools for mining and construction industries, is currently looking for a Vice President, Construction for US & Canada. This individual will be responsible for directing, controlling and planning the total operations of the customer segment both internally and externally.

In this key role, the VP Construction will develop and implement selling strategies for the all Sandvik�s equipment and services within the segment, while taking into account the P&L; business results. This includes development and implementation of the customer segment plan to align with the overall Sandvik annual business plan. This individual will be highly accountable for the success of the long term business viability.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring that all reasonable steps are taken to make certain all employees are provided with a safe and healthy working environment consistent with the Sandvik safety management program.
  • Develop and enhance the overall relationship with key customers leading to constructive and profitable business partnerships.
  • Growing revenue and profitability through direct personal customer management to key corporate accounts in the Region and through the development of a high performance account management and customer segment management team.
  • Managing resources to deliver internal and customer projects on time and within budget.
  • Co-ordinate and review the forecasting completed by the account management/CSM team to ensure that stock levels and product specifications meet the needs of the regional customer base.
  • Ensure a successful integration process of the new Sandvik and Segment strategy and other global or regional initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain a reputable training and development plan for all employees.
  • Participate in the Regional Management team with the objective of ensuring effective implementation of the Global Sandvik Strategy while ensuring Sandvik meets business commitments.
  • Maintain a team-working environment through all levels of management.

The qualified candidate will possess 10+ years experience in heavy equipment and related industries. Prior managerial experience running a sales and service operation, in addition to substantial experience in direct sales and independent distribution network selection is necessary. Track record of profitably managing and developing a large scale construction business, while focusing on long term growth is preferred. Ability to travel extensively required.
