Job Description:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall direction of a major segment of a subsidiary. Responsible for a number or specific type of project(s), market area, geographic area, division or department and assigned staff in their organizational entity. Monitors the performance of work to ensure it is done in accordance with cost, schedules, contractual and client requirements. Contributes to the achievement of market development goals. Provides organization leadership. Ensures adherence to company policies, standards and procedures and governmental regulations. Resolves conflicts or controversy to facilitate meeting established company objectives. Based at subsidiary headquarters or area offices, but makes frequent site visits.

The Operations Manager must have demonstrated the ability and knowledge to effectively manage the type of projects that they are accountable for. Knowledge and experience includes, but is not limited to: construction methods, engineering, estimating, equipment, materials, contract administration, subcontractor management, claim negotiations, project controls, labor relations, finance, manpower development and utilization and the development and maintenance of client and competition contacts. May be involved in extensive market development work.

Responsibilities
Level of responsibility and grade is determined by the volume, type of work and/or assigned area. The Construction Director represents the Company in all constrcution activities both in the home office and at the project sites, including those activities pertaining to client, labor, community and public relations. The Construction Director reports to the Senior Vice President, Oil and Gas division.

Qualifications
This is a top-level operations management position. Responsible for the overall direction of project activities for two or more major market segments or area operations. Extensive and diversified project management experience on types of projects for which they are accountable. Demonstrates the ability to effectively resolve technical and unusually difficult problems. Ensures effective utilization of human and other resources within the organization. Position is accountable to a Vice President level with two or more operations managers reporting to it.
