Our client is a large multi-billion dollar global information services provider meeting worldwide needs through leading national publications. The companies mission is to provide essential information and insight that helps individuals, markets and societies perform to their potential.
We are seeking a Vice President of Sales for a multi-hundred million dollar business unit that serves over one million customers within the global construction community. Our client is seeking candidates with at least 15 years sales management experience with progressively increasing level of responsibility within a top global construction and engineering company. The successful candidate will create strategies, provide direction and lead the execution of sales activities within 3 distinct sales channels including inside, regional and national accounts. This role will be supported by three direct reports and a total staff of 90.
The roles essential accountabilities will be:
In concert with senior management, construct a business plan to expand the existing customer base thereby expanding the revenue opportunity overall.
Direct the efforts of VP's, Sales Directors, Account Managers, and Account Representatives to achieve revenue and assigned growth targets.
Evaluate and deploy key talent to promote the growth of the business unit. Focus on retaining high performers, developing future leaders and continuous improvement of overall sales competency will be critical to success.
Targeting key accounts for selling as part of the incumbent's sales management responsibilities in highlighting these accounts to individual reps, or participating as part of a sales team on such accounts or on an individual account call basis.
Serve as "Voice of the Industry" and ambassador to the construction industry by engaging in speaking events, serving on customer councils, presenting branded proprietary research, etc.
Candidate Experience and Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will have construction industry experience and be well known in the construction industry.
A deep understanding of supply chain management as it applies to the construction industry.
Experience managing different sales models/organizations or the business development function.
Experience using new media, online, digital products preferred (but not required).
A Strong command of using analytical tools in the pursuit of new business.
A Strong sales operations background. Successful in implementing and utilizing CRM tools.
Can effectively drive revenue through strategy and execution of sales process & methodology.
Bachelor's degree MBA preferred.
