Job Description:
RESIDENT ENGINEER DUTIES:
Manages, oversees, and coordinates all facets of the construction phase of a project. Plans, organizes, directs, and reports project management activities, including updates and progress to Owner�s PM. Responsible for construction and post-construction phase activities. Manages and coordinates project field CM staff and contractor to ensure project scope is built according to plans, specs, schedules, and cost limits. Manages both the project budget and schedule while ensuring that project meets the owner�s specified standards. Performs day-to-day contract administration, including bid analysis, pre-construction meetings, and other related award coordinating activities. Reviews contractor�s initial baseline construction schedule, schedule of values, and submittals. Responds to contractor�s inquiries regarding different aspects of contract administration. Supervises, coordinates, and directs field inspection staff.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 10 years progressive project/construction management experience with water/wastewater and water distribution projects, including pipelines and treatment plants.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent.
- Certified Construction Manager or Registered Engineer in the State of California preferred.
- Proven skills in leadership, organization, management, and oral and written communications.
- Ability to act independently on technical matters relating to construction projects, and the ability to solve technical problems within schedule constraints.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including owner representatives, subcontractors, design staff etc.
- Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling and understanding of financial management and analysis.
- Proficient in Primavera CM software, Excel, and Word.
- Applicant may be required to operate a company vehicle, which will require a current driver's license in good standing, and vehicle insurance.
