Job Description:
Under general direction, provides leadership to develop and estimate conceptual and specific solutions for JCI Interior Experience and Power Solutions groups based on customer needs AG Business Unit strategies. Ensures solutions contain a broad set of JCI capabilities as appropriate for the customer's requirements. Provides the thought leadership for identifying trends and opportunities for new solution approaches for the Industrial Buildings Market). Is jointly accountable for securing the execution of work needed by the account, accountable for incorporating more JCI capabilities into customer solutions, shortening the solution development cycle, applying appropriate solution "best practices" and minimizing development and execution costs.

Principal Duties:
1. Manages the North American Business Development team for Interior Experience and Power Solutions. Ensures that the workload is properly allocated within the team and provides support for peak workload. Drives solution design resource allocation within the assigned vertical market.
2. Acts in a leadership role for Project Development for the customer Business Units throughout the Project Development process on all projects.
3. Establishes and / or implements standard processes and approaches for solution designs within assigned vertical market. Establishes, tracks and reports various performance metrics.
4. Follows and coaches to the Facilities Glide Path process as part of the customer�s Manufacturing PLUS process.
5. Will provide oversight and review of complex or new solution design approaches, and may lead solution design efforts from time to time. Establishes and/or implements consistent solution design processes and metrics. Participates in strategy and planning activities led by the Business Unit Director. Effectively writes, presents, and communicates proposals.
6. Recruits new team members as required. Provides regular coaching and assistance to assigned team. Sets goals and objectives for individual team members consistent with the goals and objectives of AG Business Unit. Provides regular performance feedback and conducts formal annual performance appraisals.
7. Works with the AG Installation Manager and Facility Services Director to ensure that the appropriate individuals are involved from Operations (e.g., Project Development Managers, AG Project Managers, Regional FS managers, and SOS�s, etc.). Ensures a smooth transition through project development and into Installation and ongoing Service.
8. Builds and/or implements effective training programs that improve vertical market knowledge and JCI capability knowledge.
9. Utilizes SMIS to identify opportunities and assist in forecasting business.
10. Will occasionally lead large, new or complex solution design efforts. Regularly reviews proposed designs and estimates to ensure quality and use of best practices.
11. Leads the identification of new solution approaches within the Industrial Buildings market for program development.
12. Develops and manages group budgets and staffing plans.
13. Leads or participates in other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, business or related field experience, MBA desirable. Minimum of twelve years of engineering, construction, and facility operations experience, with excellent knowledge of building-related systems and services. Minimum of five years of experience in a supervisor or management capacity. Possesses an advanced understanding of JCI's capabilities and the conceptual skills to solve important customer problems through a combination of JCI capabilities (e.g., facility construction, plant & equipment relocation, energy management, security, fire systems, building automation systems, services, operations and maintenance, finance, facilities management, etc.).

Demonstrated experience in the Industrial Market with significant experience in Construction, Equipment Installation and relocation and Capital Project management required to be a key part the JCI AG Account team. Must have solid knowledge of the regulatory, legislative, and business environment in the Industrial Market. Possesses strong project management skills for managing large development projects with diverse resources. Excellent presentation and communication skills required. Strong conceptual skills required for developing innovative solution designs. Has excellent customer-facing skills and is comfortable presenting at the C-level. Strong team leader, able to quickly assemble and manage a solution development team as required. Has excellent business analysis skills used to create compelling business cases. Third-party technical or business certifications related to the assigned vertical market desirable. Possesses solid working knowledge of common computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.). Ability to travel up to 50%, primarily within North America.
