Vice President – Capital Projects - LA BioMed, Torrance, CA - June 2015 – Present


Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute (LA BioMed) is an independent non-profit biomedical research organization, working in partnership with the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, whose primary mission is creating innovative solutions for healthcare through biomedical discovery.  As VP for Capital Projects & Facilities I am responsible for all aspects of project planning, development and implementation; from initial programming, budgeting, and entitlement through project completion.  



Project Director – Construction Services Division - gkkworks, Irvine, CA - July 2006 – Present

gkkworks is a premier integrated services provider headquartered in Irvine, with offices California and Colorado.  As Principal I was responsible for leadership of integrated design and construction projects and design-build projects in the healthcare, educational and commercial sectors.



Director of Central Facilities Services - Claremont University Consortium, CA - 2000 - 2006        

Claremont University Consortium is the central coordinating and support organization for The Claremont Colleges, a cluster of five undergraduate colleges and two graduate schools on adjoining campuses with a combined enrollment of 7,100 students, 2,350 staff and faculty, 175 buildings totaling 4 million square feet and 550 acres of land.

I led the Central Facilities Services department, which provided facilities maintenance and repair, physical plant management, engineering services, planning, construction management, and management of the combined campus utilities distribution system. 



Associate Vice President – Facilities and Construction - Chapman University, CA - 1993 - 2000

I was responsible for facilities maintenance & operations, planning, construction management, engineering, and energy/utilities management on the main campus and off-campus commercial and educational properties.  I led the capital planning, design and construction efforts that included project scope development (program, budget and schedule) preparation of RFP's for A&E and GC selection, project management, zoning and entitlement.



Director of Facilities and Planning - UC Irvine Medical Center, CA - 1988 – 1993

I served as the chief facilities officer for the medical center and the School of Medicine research facilities.  I led the minor capital construction program and planning department, and served as the medical center liaison for all major capital projects.
