Senior Final Assembly Quality Control Inspector


Presently performing inspections on new production Wing Center Section, presenting mandatories to Defense Contract Management Agency. As Quality Assurance Specialist I apply a wide range of principles and management techniques. I perform daily government in-plant quality evaluations required by contract to access complex products for the F14,.EA6B,E2C and Northrop Grumman aircraft, which are exemplified by electrical, hydraulics, airframe structure, and pneumatics. Conduct monthly and quarterly audits. Performing required in process inspections and final inspections using predetermined methodization, drawings and military specifications. Implementing an IBM compatible computer, through the use of Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheet program applications I review charts and specifications. Read and interpret contractors specifications and blueprints to assure our compliance with their quality requests, requiring daily research via manuals , specifications and data.. Some of my assigned tasks include: inventory of equipment on incoming aircraft for modification or SDLM work, the use of micrometers, calibers, intramics,boroscopes, and depth gauges. I maintain a technical library and submit equipment improvement recommendations and changes to the publications. My position requires quality assessments on the aircraft to determine the most cost effectiveness of the repair, whether the repair should be complied with at contractors plant or in the fleet or whether no repair is necessary. I acquire all necessary blueprints, specifications and drawings working closely with engineering to assure the safety and air worthiness of the aircraft. My duties also include writing Material Review Board discrepancies on parts from incoming vendors, assuring final quality acceptance of installations, configuration, and system operations. Experience using NAVAIR Maintenance Tech and Northrop Grumman specifications. Manage and assure effective preventive and corrective actions. Write proper documentation of repairs and assist with Quality Improvement activities. Previously Senior Quality Assurance Inspector for EA6B New production Slat Program, 2000 through 2001, 1998 to 2000 F14 Wing SDLM Program Quality Inspector, 1997 through 1998 SQI for Spares Program. I spent three years as a qualified US Navy Instructor for Hydraulic Component Test Stand, improved quality of training through evaluations of current course and reported improvements and deficiencies. Revised Training Project Plan for the Hydraulic Test Stand.. Maintained a quality of rapport with students to allow proficiency in learning and training readiness. I spent 15 years as an F14 Hydraulic and Airframes Structural Mechanic. In this position I performed a full range of duties which required me to be fully familiar with aircraft measurement equipment , calibers and hydraulic test stands.
