Provide overall managerial and technical direction for commercial projects and project management teams. Develop new business opportunities for company growth.
Responsible for team management, customer interface, project scoping, estimating, scheduling, safety oversight, cost and progress monitoring, management, and project reporting.
Project types include small to large construction projects in Healthcare, Retail, Cinema, Grocery, Self-Storage, Fitness Centers, and Educational markets.
The Project Manager/Business Unit Leader will work closely with the project team, supervise/manage field personnel, and manage all Project Management Teams. The Project Manager/Business Unit Leader will also be responsible for the following:
Ensure projects are completed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Professionally represent Benning Construction Company as the primary interface with Owners, Architects, and Engineers. Review all project purchase requisitions and change requests. Maintain official project logs and documentation files. Establish project goals for Benning Construction Company and the Project Management Teams. Actively monitor the goals to ensure that progress is made and the goals are on track to reach the desired outcome and success of Benning Construction Company by the set deadlines. Motivate, encourage, mentor, and train staff in a manner that results in high performance and general growth of Benning Construction Company. Provide internal support to Project Management Teams as needed. Devise strategies to increase business in alternative markets. Reexamine and modify strategies as required to drive the business to meet the established goals. Utilize analytical skills, creativity, ability to motivate, and strategic thinking. Possess thorough knowledge of commercial ground-up construction from pre-construction phase through completion, especially in core markets of grocery, retail, theater and higher education. 10+ years in the commercial construction industry. Bachelors degree or higher.
