Insituform Technologies, Inc. Appoints Patrice Orleach as Vice President - Europe

CHESTERFIELD, Mo.--Nov. 12, 2002--Insituform Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq National Market: INSU) ("Insituform") today announced that Patrice Orleach has joined the company as Vice President - Europe. In this role, Mr. Orleach will lead the development and implementation of business strategies aligned with Insituform's overall growth objectives. Mr. Orleach's area will include Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia. In addition to directing Insituform's own operations, Mr. Orleach will also be responsible for the development and growth of new and existing joint ventures and licensee operations. For the past several years, Mr. Orleach was employed by Vivendi Water, a Paris based subsidiary of Vivendi Environnment. After joining Vivendi in 1986 as an engineer, Mr. Orleach held a variety of increasingly responsible positions. His most recent assignment was that of International Division Deputy Director for Sade, a unit of Vivendi Water. Mr. Orleach previously held positions with engineering firms in Chicago. He received his engineering degree in hydraulics from the Institut National Polytechnique in Grenoble, and also holds a master of science degree in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In commenting on Mr. Orleach's qualifications, Anthony W.
