Hannigan Becomes CEO, Hillmann Named COO of Centex Homes

DALLAS, Apr 17, 2002 -- Centex Homes announced that, as anticipated, Andrew J. Hannigan became President and Chief Executive Officer and Robert D. Hillmann became Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective April 1, 2002, the beginning of the company's fiscal year 2003.
Hannigan, 50, is a 26-year employee of Centex Homes. He has served as the company's president since 1997 and retains the title of president while succeeding Timothy R. Eller as CEO. It was previously announced that Mr. Eller became president and COO of parent company Centex Corporation (NYSE: CTX) as of April 1.
Hillmann, 51, has been executive vice president of the Centex Homes' Mid- Atlantic Region, which covers operations from New Jersey to South Carolina, since 1995. In addition to becoming COO, Hillmann retains the title of executive vice president of Centex Homes.

Through other subsidiaries, Centex Corporation ranks as one of the nation's largest non-bank-affiliated retail mortgage loan originators and general building contractors.
