McHugh Construction Promotes Five to Senior VP

CHICAGO, -- James McHugh Construction Co. has promoted five people to senior vice presidents, McHugh Chairman James P.
McHugh and President Bruce E. Lake announced.

David Alexander, 40, of Mokena, has been promoted senior vice president from vice president, operations. Dale Hendrix, 61, of Roselle, has been named senior vice president, from vice president of concrete operations. Michael J.Meagher, 38, of Western Springs, has been named senior vice president of marketing, from vice president of marketing. John Sheridan, 45, of Oak Forest, is now senior vice president of operations, from vice president of estimating. Robert Soldan, 49, of Lisle, has been name senior vice president of operations, from vice president of operations.

"This team has been responsible for much of McHugh's success with their innovations, energy and drive," said Lake. "Their new positions will serve as a challenge to hone those skills."
Hendrix has worked for McHugh his entire career, starting as a concrete laborer at Marina City in 1960. He has risen through McHugh's ranks while expanding the scope, expertise and efficiency of its concrete operations, which rank among the largest in the country.

Alexander has worked for McHugh since 1986. With his diverse project experience and estimating skills, he has led the firm's value-engineering efforts. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction administration.

Sheridan, who holds a bachelor's degree in finance, helped create a sophisticated cost database to make McHugh's estimating, scheduling and project management systems among the finest in the industry.

Meagher began his career as an assistant project engineer in 1987 and created its marketing department several years later. He has helped build McHugh's corporate client base and expand its hospitality work. He holds a bachelor's degree in business management from St. Mary's College, now St.Mary's University of Minnesota, and serves on the school's executive committee.

Soldan, with McHugh since 1985, earned a reputation for handling complexone-of-a-kind structures. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. McHugh's Chicago-area projects include infrastructure work and construction of the first residential tower in the new Lakeshore East area and reconstruction of seven oases for the Illinois Tollway Authority. Founded in 1897, McHugh is one of Chicago's oldest and largest contracting, construction management and consulting firms.
