Dorothy F. Klasse Joins Hill International as Vice President

Marlton, NJ?Hill International, Inc., the worldwide construction-consulting firm headquartered here, has announced that Colonel Dorothy F. Klasse (U.S. Army?Retired) has joined Hill?s Project Management Group as a vice president. Klasse will be based out of Hill?s soon-to-be-opened Baghdad, Iraq office.
In her new position with Hill, Klasse will serve as program manager of a recently-awarded $1.2 billion contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers? Transatlantic Programs Center. Under that contract, Stanley Baker Hill LLC, a joint venture comprising local firm Hill International, will be providing construction management and general architect/engineer services to assist the Coalition Provisional Authority?s Program Management Office in the reconstruction of Iraq.
Klasse, who has more than 25 years? engineering and construction management experience as a decorated and accomplished veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, most recently served as an engineering consultant to the U.S. Department of Defense. Prior to that, she was as a senior project engineer for the U.S. Department of Energy?s Office of Engineering and Construction Management and deputy chief of the Congressional Activities Office for the U.S. Army?s Office of the Chief of Staff.
Klasse?s experience also includes: <sum> Chief executive officer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers? Sacramento District-- She led a 1,100-person engineering and construction management organization with an annual operating budget of over $400 million (and was the first woman in the history of the Army to lead a Corps District).
<sum> Chief executive assistant to the assistant secretary of the Army for Civil Works and the chief executive officer of the U.S. Army?s 92nd Combat Engineer Battalion--She led a 600-person engineering and construction organization (and was the first woman in the history of the Army to lead a Combat Engineer Battalion).
<sum> Assistant professor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
Klasse earned her B.S. in biology and geography from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire and her M.A. in geography from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is also a graduate of the U.S. Army War College and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Klasse is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers and the Association of the United States Army.
