ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Feb. 23 -- Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that it has been named America's most admired engineering and construction company, based on a survey conducted for FORTUNE magazine's annual listing.Fluor ranked No. 1 overall in the engineering and construction category after being judged against eight criteria by executives, directors and security analysts within the industry.
Fluor was judged either No. 1 or 2 in all eight categories, earning first- place rankings for innovation, quality of products and services, and financial soundness. Fluor was one of only five California companies to be ranked No. 1 within their respective industries. Sixty-four industry categories were evaluated. "We are honored to have been selected as America's most admired engineering and construction company," said Alan Boeckmann, Fluor's chairman and chief executive officer.
