FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Danvers, MA 2/10/04
William A. Berry & Son Inc., a construction management company located in Danvers, MA, recently moved into their new, state-of-the-art office building at 99 Conifer Hill Drive. The move has united the entire office-staff of 115 employees under one roof, and will be the catalyst that propels them into the 21st century of building innovation. The 60,000 SF brick structure with contemporary tinted windows stands three stories high and features seven high-tech conference rooms, a cafeteria, glorious lobby, and office spaces suitably designed to fit each department?s needs. Outside of the building there are 239 parking spaces and a 40? flag pole gallantly presenting the American flag. In front of the entrance lays a mounted bronze plate in which ?Berry Way? is inscribed with a description of its philosophy. Surrounding that plate is 250 8 x 8 bricks dedicated to those who support the Berry Fund, which last year raised over $115,000 for local charities. All of those involved in the creation process are delighted with the outcome. ?Throughout the years of constructing many buildings, you take for granted the pleasure and enjoyment a new building brings to people,? said Ernie Carrier, Project Superintendent. ?It?s not until you are directly included with the end user that you feel the enjoyment first hand.? Directly inside the building is The Conifer Caf?, an elegant and relaxing coffee, sandwich and soup bar open to the public. Serving menu items from Danver?s Custom Cup, the caf? is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. and features a specialty item everyday. ?We are looking to provide a nice amenity package to employees and area residents that is not provided locally,? said Michael Corbett, Berry?s Chief Financial Officer. ?It came out looking really nice and the quality of food is great.? Berry would like to thank Salem Five, Hancock Engineering, Cubellis, McNamara/Salvia, Hampshire Fire Protection, Northstar Plumbing & Mechanical, Palmer & Sicard and Interstate Electrical for their help in constructing the building in an unconventional design/build operation. ?This project presented a unique situation in which mechanical subcontractors not only provided labor and material to install the systems, but also provided the design of the system,? said Eric Libby, Project Coordinator. ?This situation would not have been possible if it weren?t for Berry?s invaluable in-house Engineering team and a great deal of preplanning by the entire projects team to coordinate all mechanical systems.? Berry would also like to express their most sincere appreciation and gratitude to Ernie Carrier; Eric Libby; and Traci Farrell, Project Manager; for their tireless work in the planning and execution of such a successful project. Without the diligent effort of everyone involved, 99 Conifer Hill Drive would not have been possible.
