MYR Group Names New President and CEO; Appoints New Executive Management Committee

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., -- MYR Group Inc., today announced the appointment of William A. Koertner as president and chief executive officer, effective December 4, 2003. Koertner, who previously served as the company's senior vice president and chief financial officer, will lead MYR Group in its renewed emphasis on enhancing its competitiveness with an uncompromising focus on safe operations. "I'm honored to lead MYR Group as we continue our efforts to improve our overall performance, with safety, job performance and quality customer service as out top priorities," Mr. Koertner said. Koertner joined MYR Group in 1998, and has more than 25 years experience in the construction and utility industries. Koertner replaces William S. Skibitsky who has elected to pursue other opportunities. Skibitsky held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of MYR from 1994 to 1999 prior to his appointment as CEO. Additionally, MYR Group announced the appointment of William H. Green as senior vice president and chief operating officer and Marco Martinez as vice president and chief financial officer. Previously, Mr. Green served as senior vice president of business development and Mr. Martinez served as director of finance and administration. MYR Group, based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, is a subsidiary of Akron, Ohio-based FirstEnergy Corp. MYR Group subsidiaries provide a complete range of power line and commercial and industrial electrical construction services for electric utilities, telecommunication providers, commercial and industrial facilities, and government agencies in the U.S. MYR Group subsidiaries also offer mechanical construction and maintenance services for steel, industrial and power generation clients.
