New York, N.Y., April 29, 2003 - Peter J. Davoren, president of Turner Construction Company, announced that John H. Pierce has joined Turner as general manager and vice president of the Turner Interiors National Group. Pierce will be based out of the firm's New York office and will report to Rory C. DeJohn.
Turner Interiors specializes in tenant fit-outs, both in new and existing buildings. The group currently operates in nine cities nationwide: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, D.C. The New York office of Turner Interiors functions as the group's headquarters.
Pierce will serve as the liaison between Turner's regional offices and the New York headquarters, working to enhance relationships that Turner Interiors develops with corporate and institutional clients as well as design and real estate professionals across the country. National clients for Turner Interiors include AOL/Time Warner, Bank of America, the Chubb Group, Equity Office Properties Trust, Fidelity Investments, Lehman Brothers, the McGraw-Hill Companies, Merrill Lynch, and Washington Mutual.
Pierce began his career with Turner Construction Company in 1981 as a project manager in the New York metropolitan area. In 1990, he joined Hines Interests as a project executive, responsible for various commercial real estate development projects in the New York area. Most recently, Pierce was executive director, international real estate and facilities projects for Morgan Stanley, where he managed a global team of over 100 professionals.
His responsibilities encompassed land development, space planning and the supervision of design and construction for office, trading and infrastructure projects.
Pierce holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. He is currently a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Mr. Pierce also serves on the board of directors of the New York chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the ACE (Architecture/Construction/ Engineering) Mentor Program of Greater New York.
