Designworks assists the Builder, Architect and Developer in developing preliminary and final project schedules, showing all services and activities, suggestions and outline quantities of preliminary materials, finishes and equipment selections, recommendations on time requirements for procurement, installation methods and techniques affecting labor requirements, and other pertinent timeline and budgetary factors. Services for single or multi-family homes, models, clubhouses, amenity areas and specs include selection of furnishings, fixtures and equipment, equipment evaluation, cost estimating, space planning and scaled furniture plans, custom lighting and reflected ceiling plans, window treatment packages, artwork selection and consultation, millwork packages, building materials, hardware, paint finishes and schedules. Designworks is a vital part of a commercial building and design project, and provides both design and specification services, specifying the initial finishes and assisting with re-selection of discontinued finishes, preventing unspecified materials and gaps in specifications.

(IDAF), is a member of The National Trust for Historic Preservation and The Florida Trust and is an Allied Member of AIA. Mr. Hefner is actively involved in Quality of Life issues, Green Building Design, and Historic Preservation, with such organizations as the American Lung Association, the March of Dimes, The U.S. Green Building Council, The Institute for Classical Architecture, The Florida Trust and The National Trust for Historic Preservation.
