Newell Cheatheam, CPBD, AIBD, TIBD, President of Newell?s Designs, www.newellsdesigns.com an award winning building design firm in Katy, Texas has been appointed to the Construction Industry Council of Houston (CIC) as delegate for the Texas Institute of Building Design (TIBD), www.tibd.org . Cheatheam has been designing custom homes and commercial buildings since 1969 and started his own design firm in 1974. The CIC purpose is for organizing together of the various organizations of the construction industry to study and advise the Mayor and City Council of the City of Houston and any of its departments or committees in the area of codification or recodification of the City?s requirements, ordinances, licensed, franchises or other controls over the construction of buildings, dwellings, houses, and other structures above or below ground, in the corporate limits of the City of Houston or under the jurisdiction of the City of Houston. Cheatheam is honored to serve the state building designers organization, TIBD on the council.
