BOMA International Presents 'BOOT CAMP II': Blueprint for Prosperity in a Customer-Driven Market

WASHINGTON, Sept. 3 -- As the real estate market continues to evolve and the divergent needs of tenants increase, the demand for highly skilled and well-informed commercial real estate professionals has never been greater. To ensure commercial real estate professionals are conversant to these ever-expanding needs, the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International has partnered with The Lipsey Company and REAL Systems to offer a ground-breaking course entitled "Boot Camp II: Blueprint for Prosperity in a Customer-Driven Market." BOMA's Boot Camp II, a three-day intensive education program, will be held September 23-25, 2003 in Arlington, VA at the Marriott Key Bridge Hotel.<p> Boot Camp II was specifically designed to give building owners andproperty managers the most up-to-date tools and sophistication needed to attract and retain customers, while simultaneously managing a cost-efficient building. The three-day schedule features instruction on advanced financial literacy, tenant expectations in the new economy, customer relationship management, defensive leasing and negotiating, benchmarks/levels of service delivery, implementing strategies, and scenario planning. Students will learn through various lectures, case studies, group exercises, and role-playing. <p>"Boot Camp has already experienced vast success thanks to its practicalformat in an student-oriented setting. Due to the continual changes within the real estate market, Boot Camp II is a progressive course that is specifically designed to meet the demands of commercial real estate professionals," said Michael J. "This is one professional enrichment opportunity you cannot afford to miss."<p>Previous Boot Camp graduates are encouraged to attend however, prior Boot Camp experience is not a requirement. Property and building managers, leasing and asset managers and facility professionals will learn how to: <ul><li> * Manage customers with a less-than-perfect, little, or no credit history; <li> * Calculate compound, discount, and mortgage finances; <li> * Determine net present value and internal rate of return; <li> * Assess financial components of occupancy; <li> * Compare two or more lease alternatives for the same space; <li> * Decipher subrogation, subordination, and other confusing clauses; <li> * Evaluate customer segments with customer valuation analysis; <li> * Utilize CRM system basics -- customer acquisitions, retention, and segmentation; and <li> * Analyze the cost of losing a tenant and building a relationship that lasts; </ul><p> BOMA International has applied to all participating states and Canada for approval of this program for continuing education credits toward the renewal of a real estate license. Boot Camp II is approved for RPA, FMA, SMA, CPM, ARM and SIOR renewal credits.
