New Career Site for Engineer and Technical Jobs Works Like a Search Engine Linking Jobseekers Directly to Job Openings on Engineering Company Web Sites Monday September 15, 8:33 pm PST
DAVIS, CA., Sept. 15 -- Engineer.net today announced the launch of www.engineer.com , a new career Web site serving engineering professionals . Engineer.net is unique in its approach to Internet recruiting and offers benefits to both jobseekers and employers of engineers that are not available from any other career Web site.
Unlike traditional job-posting sites, Engineer.net is a Internet search engine. When a jobseeker performs a job search, he is searching live available position postings on engineering company Web sites. Clicking on a search result will link the jobseeker directly to that job posting displayed on the company's Web site.
Another key feature of Engineer.net is its Job Alert Agents. Job Alerts enable passive and active jobseekers to have job openings automatically emailed to them, based on their own search keywords. In addition, Engineer.net offers a resume database exclusively of engineering industry professionals.
"Engineer.net's focus is on the engineering industry, which spans all kinds of companies" said Eric Tavenier, founder of Engineer.net. "Our site enables engineering jobseekers to search for all types of engineer career positions at all companies that employ engineers, including sales, design, construction, operations, consulting, and research. Engineers will see these jobs. Only about one-third of a engineering company's job openings can be found on the large job boards. The other two- thirds are found only on their corporate Web sites. We are linking candidates to many job openings that are not found on any other career Web sites."
"Engineering firms have already invested in creating impressive Web sites to showcase their companies and career opportunities," said Tavenier. "The career opportunities area of a engineering company's corporate Web site is a very powerful resource for attracting high quality candidates. Engineer.net leverages that resource by reaching qualified jobseekers and directly linking them to the career openings. There is no longer any reason to duplicate the job posting effort on multiple third- party job boards. Many studies have shown that the highest quality candidates are those who have visited the corporate Web site and applied directly. Best of all it saves our clients effort; clients just maintain their own site and our search engine handles any changes, its always up to date with no further effort."
Engineer.net already links to employment opportunities from many leading companies and municipalities including International Paper, Cannon Associates, Sybron, Aisin, and the City of Gilroy.
