WASHINGTON, July 15 -- Steven W. Ford, Senior Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield's Facilities Management Group, East Rutherford, New Jersey, has been named Chairman-Elect of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International, commercial real estate's leading advocacy group. Elections took place at the association's Annual Conference and The Office Building Show(R) held recently in San Francisco. Mr. Ford's term runs through June 2004. A BOMA member since 1987, Ford served as vice president of the international association before moving up to his current post and also serves on the Executive Committee and National Advisory Council. He is a member of the Board of Directors of BOMA/New York association, where he previously served as president. Ford has been employed by Cushman & Wakefield for over 25 years, and is currently responsible for overseeing management of owner occupied properties totaling in excess of 80 million square feet in the U.S. Prior to his current position, he served as regional director for the eastern region. In addition to his facilities management responsibilities, Mr. Ford is a mentor to the asset services group in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey. He received the James P. McGuire Award for Cushman & Wakefield Asset Services Professionals in 1987. Mr. Ford earned his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
