June 19, 2003--Raymond C. Southern, Chief Executive Officer of Centex Rooney Construction Company, Inc., is pleased to announce the promotions Doug Simms to Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Colb to Controller and Mary Mallard to Assistant Controller in the company's corporate Financial Services Department.
Mr. Simms received his Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at El Paso. He joined the Centex organization in 1998 as Controller and was promoted to Vice President in 2000. He has over 17 years of experience in the financial industry. Doug's responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer will encompass all company financial aspects including financial reporting, annual budgeting, owner financing, risk management, insurance and loss control, as well as contract review and project accounting training.
Mr. Colb, a certified Public Accountant, is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance. He also completed courses in the Advanced Certificate Program in Accountancy at Florida International University. He has over 15 years of accounting and finance experience. Mr. Colb joined Centex Rooney in 1997 as a Senior Financial Analyst and was promoted to Assistant Controller in 2000. With this promotion to Controller, his responsibilities will expand to include management of the Company's accounting functions.
Mrs. Mallard joined Centex Rooney in February 2000 as a Staff Accountant. Promoted to Senior Financial analyst in 2001, she received her degree in Business Administration in accounting from Florida Atlantic University. Mary began her career providing financial services in the construction industry 15 years ago. With this promotion to Assistant Controller, her responsibilities will expand to include financial reporting, job costing and general ledger, as well as staff management and development.
