American Residential Names Three Senior Vice Presidents

SAN DIEGO---American Residential Investment Trust, Inc. (AMEX(R):INV), the parent company of American Mortgage Network (AmNet), announced today that it had promoted three of its executives -- Muir Atherton, Anna M. Martinez, and Suzanne Gonsalves -- to the post of Senior Vice President. All three individuals have deep expertise in the mortgage banking and financial services sectors.
Muir Atherton and Anna Martinez are Senior Vice Presidents of Capital Markets and lead all aspects of secondary activity. Martinez is focused on new products and product development, systems and process enhancements, as well as investor/MI/dealer relations. Atherton is responsible for hedging, sales, pricing, rate distribution, and the lock desk function. Suzanne Gonsalves is Senior Vice President of Human Resources, responsible for staffing, training and development, employee relations, compensation, benefits administration, and facilities management.
Commenting on the appointments, John M. Robbins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, said, "These three executives have formidable expertise in our industry. Their knowledge is utilized on a daily basis to serve the mortgage broker community, our institutional investors and the talented AmNet team."
Previously, Atherton served as Vice President of Providian Financial. At Bank of America, he was Vice President, responsible for secondary marketing and loan delivery. He was also a Senior Vice President at American Residential Mortgage Corporation. Atherton is a graduate of Princeton University and received his MBA from Wharton Graduate Division, University of Pennsylvania.
Before her promotion, Anna M. Martinez was Vice President, Capital Markets and New Business Development for AmNet. She previously served as Vice President, Senior Relationship Manager for Bank of America Private Bank. Martinez has held management positions with Chase Manhattan Mortgage, Advanta Mortgage and American Residential Mortgage Corporation. She has a B.S. in Business Administration and a Masters of International Business from the University of San Diego.
Suzanne Gonsalves joined American Mortgage Network in December 2001 to build AmNet's human resources infrastructure. Previously, she was Vice President, Human Resources for Long Beach Acceptance Corp. Gonsalves has held management positions at Chase Manhattan Mortgage and American Residential Mortgage Corporation. She received a B.S. in Psychology from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
