LAS VEGAS, May 1 -- Fair, Anderson & Langerman (FAL), a large Southern Nevada CPA and business advisory firm specializing in construction, today announced the results of the 2002 survey of its largest construction clients (general contractors and large sub- contractors). Overall, the results of the survey reflect an optimistic view of the market. FAL conducts this survey on a biennial basis to keep a finger on the pulse of what is happening in the construction industry so we can know better how to serve our clients' needs.
Of the 32 companies responding, 63 percent reported that their 2002 revenues met or exceeded their expectations. They were evenly split on whether or not their revenue performance was in line with the rest of the market and 75 percent expect their revenues to increase in 2003.
Asked what issue or trend could have the greatest impact in the Southern Nevada construction market in 2003, responses centered in four main areas:
-- Land cost and availability
-- Liability insurance for construction defects
-- National economic downturn
-- Terrorism or other disasters restricting tourism
