Ellerbe Becket, a global leader in design and construction, announced today that Peter Styx, AIA, has been selected to lead the firm's technology, corporate and developer practices. In this integrated leadership role, Styx will seamlessly manage and coordinate activities among these three practice areas, which share significant project overlap.
"Over time, more and more of our corporate projects have merged paths with our technology practice," said Rick Lincicome, CEO, Ellerbe Becket. "With Peter's emphasis on corporate and mission-critical design and his commitment to client satisfaction, we strengthen not only our technology practice, but also grow our relationships with corporate clients and developers."
Styx, a 19-year employee with Ellerbe Becket, is based in the Twin Cities where Ellerbe Becket was founded more than 90 years ago. He was named a principal of the firm in 2001. His portfolio includes designs for corporations such as State Farm Insurance and E*TRADE and global technology companies such as OptiGlobe Communications. In April of this year, Styx was elected to the Minnesota High Tech Association's Board of Directors.
"As we have witnessed changes in our customers' needs it only makes sense to simplify the way we provide our services," said Styx. "To be part of that change and to represent the spectrum of talent and expertise that we have at Ellerbe Becket is an exciting opportunity."
Corporate customers and developer partners can look to Styx as the single source for project management. Once the project needs are defined, Styx will draw from all three practice areas, shaping expert teams and ensuring that project quality standards are met for every client.
"Technology pervades today's businesses and is critical to their success," said Styx. "But supporting and maintaining business technology goes beyond software and hardware upgrades. The building that shelters your data assets is the front line of defense against power outages, natural disasters, elements that lead to downtime and, ultimately, profit loss."
An innovator since its founding in 1909, Ellerbe Becket is a leader in architecture, engineering and the construction industry with office locations worldwide.
