EXTON, Pa.--March 19, 2003--Bentley Systems, Incorporated today announced the appointment of Anthony Flynn to the position of chief marketing officer (CMO).
In this newly created position, Flynn will manage the worldwide corporate marketing activities of the company and report to COO Malcolm Walter.
This appointment follows the campaign launch of "managed environment" for users, made possible by Bentley's V8 Generation of products. It also comes as the company has now formed vertical teams to serve its four vertical markets: building, plant, civil, and geospatial.
"We have created the position of CMO to carry forward our message of managed environment and build an effective marketing platform for our new vertical teams," Walter said. "We chose Tony for this position because of his track record of strong messaging and program success at Bentley, as well as his knowledge of the businesses of our users."
Flynn was moved to CMO from his position of director of marketing for Bentley's building team, where he led the recent launch of that group's successful building information modeling (BIM) campaign. Previously, he served Bentley as president of Boston Communications, where for five years he served as senior marketing consultant to Bentley.
Flynn's previous executive and management roles include heading corporate and product marketing for Viewlogic Systems Inc., a pioneer in electronic design automation software tools, and other positions at Bricsnet and Mentor Graphics.
