Kristine Fallon Associates, Inc. Recognized by the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association for its Use of Citadon's Web-based Technology on Chicago Transit Authority's $2.2 Billion Capital Improvement Program

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, January 6, 2003 - Citadon, Inc., the leading provider of online software solutions for the engineering and construction industry, announced that Kristine Fallon Associates, Inc. (KFA) was awarded the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association (IRTBA) 2002 Technology Advancement Award for its use of Citadon's Web-based project management software on the Chicago Transit Authority's (CTA's) $2.2 billion capital improvement program. Citadon client URS Construction Services - one of the world's leading engineering design firms for the transportation industry - contracted KFA to select, implement, and oversee the use of Web-based project management for the program. KFA was the sole recipient of the award, which honors innovation and accomplishment in promoting the use of technology within the transportation, design and construction industry.

"One of our most important goals is to further the use of technology in our industry, particularly in the area of online communications, collaboration and project management," said William Grams, executive director for the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association. "We see tremendous benefits in using online technologies - project teams can communicate faster and more reliably; they can fix errors and make adjustments instantaneously; they can expedite the bid process more efficiently. Through its work on the CTA capital improvement program, KFA has raised the bar for our industry, demonstrating the direct benefits of Web-based project management for large teams on complex public construction projects."

CTA, the nation's second-largest transportation system, serves more than 1.5 million riders a day, providing bus and rapid-transit rail service to the city of Chicago and 40 neighboring suburbs. The five-year capital improvement program will provide CTA customers with new and rehabilitated facilities, and will extend the life of the transit system by four decades. Spanning 50 projects, the gargantuan program is the first of its kind to rely on Web-based communication and collaboration for nearly all aspects of the projects.

Sharif Abou-Sabh, P.E., URS program manager for the CTA capital improvement program, recognized the potential for Web-based project management tools from the beginning. "Because of the size and scale of this program, I knew we would have to manage it online," said Abou-Sabh. "It's worked so well that it has truly exceeded our expectations."

William Grams of IRTBA added that "the technology advancement award is designed to make the benefits of technology clear to the transportation building industry. What KFA did was to put the Citadon solution to work in a public sector setting and made it successful for everyone involved. In our industry, finding project efficiencies are the Holy Grail. The way KFA applied technology to that problem is truly a lesson for the rest of the industry."
